No. At Istanbul Care the package price is flat, so a case needing 2,000 grafts and a case needing 4,500 grafts pay the same figure for the same tier. The graft count changes the operation; it does not change the invoice.

That is not how the whole sector works, which is why the question keeps coming up. Where a clinic prices per graft, the count is the price — and the count is only settled once someone has examined your scalp in person, usually in a city you have already flown to.
| What people search for | What actually sets the number | What it costs here |
|---|---|---|
| 2,000 grafts | Usually asked about for a receding hairline or temple work. The real figure comes from the area being covered and what the donor area can spare. | Tier price, unchanged |
| 3,000 grafts | Usually asked about when the hairline and the mid-scalp are being treated together. | Tier price, unchanged |
| 4,000 grafts | Usually asked about when the crown is included, because the crown grows in a swirl and needs more grafts for the same visual result. | Tier price, unchanged |
| 5,000 grafts | A large case. Whether it is safe in one sitting is a surgical judgement, not a pricing one. | Tier price, unchanged |
Graft count still matters — just not to the bill. It decides how long the day takes, whether the case is better split across two sittings, and how much donor supply is left for a second procedure years later. Those are surgical decisions made at assessment, not numbers you can settle from a photograph.
If you want a starting figure before speaking to anyone, the hair graft calculator gives an indicative range. Treat it as a conversation opener; the number that counts is the one set in person.
A flat package price tells you the total before you book a flight. A per-graft price tells you the total after you have landed. That single difference is where most billing disputes in this sector begin, and it is worth settling before you compare any two quotes.
Per-graft pricing is not dishonest in itself. It is a defensible way to charge, and a clinic that estimates carefully lands close to its own quote. The difficulty is structural rather than moral: the person deciding how many grafts you need is also the person paid by the graft, and the decision is made at the point where walking away costs you a flight, a hotel and the time you booked off work.
| Per-graft pricing | Flat package pricing | |
|---|---|---|
| When you know the total | After the in-person assessment, often on the day | Before you book travel |
| Who gains if the count rises | The clinic | Nobody — the figure is fixed |
| What you are comparing between clinics | A rate, plus an estimate you cannot verify | A total |
| Where the pressure sits | On the morning of surgery | Before the deposit |
| The question to ask | “What happens if the assessment lands above the estimate?” | “Is there anything at all that can be added after I arrive?” |
Istanbul Care prices flat — FUE Sapphire $1,990, Organic DHI $2,290, Gold DHI Ultra $2,490 — with no per-graft surcharge added after arrival. Whichever model a clinic uses, the protection is the same: get the answer in writing before a deposit moves, and keep it.
Because they are not selling the same operation. Two Istanbul clinics can quote figures that are far apart while describing the procedure in near-identical words, and almost all of the gap is explained by two things: how many patients the clinic runs through in a day, and who performs which stage of the surgery.

A hair transplant is not one task. It is extraction, channel opening, and placement. Extraction and placement can be carried out by trained technicians under supervision, and in most clinics they are. Opening the recipient channels — the angle each hair leaves the scalp at, the depth, the direction, the density — is the stage that decides whether a hairline reads as natural a year later. It is also the stage most quietly delegated, because it is the one a patient cannot see happening and cannot audit afterwards.
That is the fork in the road. A clinic built for volume needs the surgeon’s hours spread across as many patients as possible, so the surgeon marks the hairline, greets the patient and moves on. A clinic built around one surgeon operating on a small number of patients a day cannot spread that cost, so the figure is higher. Neither is a scandal. Both are business models — and the price is telling you which one you are buying.
| What actually differs | High-volume model | Surgeon-led model |
|---|---|---|
| Patients per surgeon per day | Several, sometimes many | Few |
| Who opens the recipient channels | Frequently delegated to technicians | The surgeon |
| Who you meet on the day | A coordinator, then a team | The named surgeon, throughout |
| How the headline figure is set | Low enough to keep the calendar full | By surgeon hours, which do not scale |
| Where the margin is recovered | Volume, and items introduced after arrival | The quoted price |
| What you can verify before paying | A rate | A named surgeon and a written scope |
So the useful question is not “why is that clinic cheaper” but “what is the cheaper clinic doing differently, and does it matter for my case”. Ask both clinics the same three things: who opens the channels, how many patients the surgeon operates on that day, and whether the quoted figure can change after arrival. The answers separate the two models faster than any price list does.
Finding the best hair transplant in Turkey for your own case is mostly this exercise repeated across a shortlist, which is why we published the method rather than a verdict.
With a flat all-inclusive package the surgical and in-Istanbul costs are already inside the figure: the procedure, private transfers, hotel nights around the operation date, the medication set, the first wash at the clinic and follow-up afterwards. What is left is what you arrange yourself — and it is worth pricing before you compare any two clinics.
We do not publish figures for any of these, because they are not ours to quote — a flight from Manchester in February and a flight from Toronto in July are not the same purchase, and a page that averages them is guessing. Price them for your own trip, add them to the package figure, and compare that total against a quote from home.
Compare totals rather than headlines, and make sure both totals cover the same things. A home-country quote usually covers the operation and little else; a Turkish package usually covers the operation plus the logistics around it; and neither includes your flights unless it says so in writing.
We do not publish other clinics’ prices or country averages on this page. Figures like that go stale, differ by city and surgeon, and cannot be verified by the reader — which is exactly why they get quoted so confidently elsewhere. What you can do instead is get two written quotes and line them up against the same six questions.
| Line them up on this | Ask at home | Ask in Turkey |
|---|---|---|
| How the price is built | Per graft or a flat figure? | Per graft or a flat figure? |
| Sessions | Is a second session quoted separately? | Same question, before the deposit |
| Travel and stay | Not applicable — but count your own time off | Are transfers and hotel nights inside the figure? |
| Follow-up | Are review appointments chargeable? | Are remote reviews chargeable once you are home? |
| Who operates | Named surgeon, and present throughout? | Named surgeon, and who opens the channels? |
| Revision | What happens if density falls short at twelve months? | Same question, in writing |
The saving is real and it is structural: operating costs are lower, the local market is competitive, and experienced teams stay busy enough to keep prices down. What the saving does not do is answer any of the six questions above for you. A cheap operation performed by whoever was free that morning is not a saving, and a second procedure to correct a first one removes the discount entirely.
Eyebrow and beard work is quoted case by case rather than from the scalp tiers, because the graft numbers and the placement demands are different. Both are more exacting per graft than a scalp case: the angle at which each hair has to leave the skin is far shallower, and the result sits on someone’s face rather than under hair.
Eyebrows. A small number of grafts relative to a scalp case, but the least forgiving work in the field. Direction matters more than density — brow hairs change angle across the brow, and grafts placed at a uniform angle read as drawn on. This is single-hair work, placed one at a time, and it is why brow cases are quoted individually. Details on the eyebrow transplant page.
Beard and moustache. Usually a larger graft count than brows and drawn from the same scalp donor area, which is the practical reason to plan a beard case alongside any scalp plan rather than separately. Spending donor supply on a beard now can limit what is available for the hairline later. Details on the beard transplant page.
For either, send photographs first and get the plan and the figure in writing before booking anything. The same rule applies as for a scalp case: a quote that can move after you arrive is not a quote.
The tier price, plus whatever you arrange yourself. FUE Sapphire is $1,990, Organic DHI is $2,290 and Gold DHI Ultra is $2,490 — and none of those figures moves after you land. There is no per-graft surcharge, no count-based adjustment and no line item introduced on the morning of surgery.
Outside that sits the part nobody can quote for you: flights, any nights beyond those covered, time away from work, and anything prescribed for the months at home. Add those to the tier figure and you have your real total — the number to carry into any comparison.
Three things make a final figure trustworthy rather than merely indicative, and they are worth checking against any clinic:
If you are still building a shortlist, our comparison of the best hair transplant clinic in Turkey candidates sets out the selection method and what was excluded, and how ratings and costs actually line up explains why the two rarely move together. For the tier-by-tier inclusion list, see Turkey hair transplant packages.
The same tier prices apply: FUE Sapphire $1,990, Organic DHI $2,290 and Gold DHI Ultra $2,490. There is no separate price list for female patients, and a clinic quoting a woman a different figure for the same technique should be asked to explain what is different about the operation.
What does differ is the planning, and it differs enough that it is worth its own conversation. Female pattern loss is more often diffuse than a receding line, which means the donor area can be thinning too — and a donor area that is itself affected changes what is safely available to move. That assessment comes before any discussion of technique or tier.
The other practical difference is shaving. Unshaven and partially shaved approaches are more labour-intensive per graft than a fully shaved case, which is why they are not offered for every graft count. If not shaving is a firm condition for you, raise it at the first message rather than after a date is booked — it can change which approach is workable.
The reason it matters more than the price: a transplant redistributes hair, it does not create it. Where loss is diffuse and still progressing, moving grafts into a thinning area can produce a result that looks good at twelve months and disappointing later. An honest assessment sometimes concludes that a transplant is not the right answer yet, and that answer is worth more than a booking. More on the hair transplant for women page.
