Previously, the unnamed patient’s transformation had shown us that using that words himself:

  • “I realized I was running away from myself” “I didn’t want to look in the mirror”.

Personal transformation processes, in most cases, are not limited only to physical appearance. Sometimes, a person’s relationship with themselves can weaken over time without them fully realizing it.

One of the most common aspects we observe in patients who come to our clinic is precisely this: behind the desire for a physical change, there is often a deeper need — to regain self-confidence.

In this article, we share the journey of one of our patients, recently treated in our clinic, through their own words and our observations.

The beginning of the story

From the very first contact with the patient, we perceived that what might seem completely normal from the outside actually had a very different meaning internally.

He continued with his daily life, worked, and maintained his social relationships. However, as he explained, he felt that something inside him was changing.

He describes it in these words:

“Everything in my life was actually going well, but I didn’t feel well.
I don’t even remember exactly when I got to this point.”

Over time, this feeling began to reflect in his behavior, especially in his social interactions:

“I used to be calmer. Then I gradually started to change.
I began to feel more insecure when talking to people.”

The moment of awareness

In processes like this, the most important moment is rarely a sudden change, but rather a moment of awareness.

For our patient, this moment came when he looked at some old photos:

“One day I looked at my old photos.
That person was me… but at the same time, it wasn’t me.”

This comparison revealed not only a physical change, but also an emotional distance.

“At that moment, I asked myself: when did I start to close myself off this much?”

The decision-making process

After this realization, the process was not driven by an impulsive decision, but by a conscious and thoughtful evaluation.

The patient took time to research, analyzed different options, and avoided rushing.

He highlights one key point in particular:

I didn’t make the decision immediately. I researched and reflected.
Because I wanted to do it for myself, not for others.”

This approach allowed for a more solid and sustainable process.

The experience during the process

Before starting, we observed some natural concerns from the patient — which is completely normal.

However, thanks to detailed planning, transparent communication, and a controlled approach, these concerns quickly gave way to trust.

The patient describes his experience as follows:

“Honestly, I expected a more difficult process.
But it was much easier than I imagined.”

The change

One of the most relevant aspects we observed after the process is that the change was not limited to the physical level.

We detected an evolution in his daily behavior, in the way he communicates, and in his overall presence.

He expresses it clearly:

“Not only did my appearance change.
The way I see myself changed.”

This sentence summarizes one of the key points of the entire process.

Over time, we observed that he felt more comfortable in social situations, expressed himself more naturally, and the situations that previously caused discomfort decreased.

He describes it like this:

“Now I feel more comfortable when I talk to people.
I no longer avoid photos.”

And perhaps the most meaningful sentence:

“Before, I was running away from myself.
Now I don’t feel that way anymore.”

Today

Today, the patient interprets this process not simply as a change, but as a return to himself.

He summarizes it with these words:

“It wasn’t just a change.
It was like returning to myself.”

Lastly our transformation is:

Every story is unique.

However, something we observe in many of our patients is how a small step can create a much greater impact than expected.

A change that begins on a physical level can, in many cases, also transform the relationship a person has with themselves.
