Turkey became the world capital of hair transplantation because of its surgeons, not its geography. Istanbul Care now brings that team to New York, so the part that decides your result travels — and you do not have to.
The surgeons, not the postcode
Hair transplantation is a manual craft: the result follows the team performing it, not the city on the letterhead. The surgeons operating in New York are the same ones who built Istanbul Care's reputation in Istanbul.
No flight, no time zone
The days after a transplant are the ones you least want to spend in an airport. Here there is no flight home with a fresh recipient area, no jet lag on top of a long day in the chair, and no time difference between you and the clinic when a question comes up.
One price, not per graft
A New York clinic will usually quote per graft, which is why a 3,000-graft case so often lands well above the first estimate. Ours is one fixed price whatever the graft count turns out to be, agreed in writing before you book anything.
Follow-up you can actually attend
This is the part medical tourism cannot offer. Your first wash, your review, and anything that needs a second look over the next year happen in person, at the clinic, with the team that operated on you.

We hold Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health authorisation AK-0396, listed in the official Health Türkiye agency register, and our hair transplant prices are published rather than revealed after you send photos. Your doctor plans the hairline and graft count with you, patient coordinators support you in your language, and a 4.7/5 rating from 1,179 patient reviews shows how our patients rate the result.
Your doctor plans your hairline and graft count with you. Our hair transplant doctors include Dr. Asil B., Dr. Tuğba H., Dr. Ayşenur K. and Dr. Merve S., and each has a profile page you can read before you book.

Both techniques used in New York are follicular unit extraction methods: grafts are taken one by one from the donor area, with no strip and no linear scar. What differs is how the recipient site is opened and how the graft is placed. The choice is made at consultation, based on your hair characteristics and the area being covered — not decided in advance.
FUE
The is harder and holds a sharper V-shaped edge, so the surgeon can open micro-channels sized precisely to the graft. Because the blade glides with less vibration and tissue damage, patients typically notice faster healing: scabs shed sooner and redness fades within days rather than weeks. The tighter channels also allow denser packing.
DHI
DHI — direct hair implantation — places extracted grafts straight into the scalp with a Choi implanter pen, skipping the pre-made channel step. The pen is a fine, spring-loaded needle that opens the channel and sets the graft in a single motion. That one-step placement is what makes DHI the preferred technique for hairline work: the surgeon controls the exact depth, direction and angle of every follicle.
Which one is better?
Neither is universally better. DHI offers finer control over angle and density, which suits hairline refinement and smaller sessions. FUE covers larger areas in one sitting. The right answer depends on your donor area, the size of the region being covered and the density you are aiming for — which is what the consultation is for.
How it works
Step 1 — Free hair analysis
Send a few photos of your hairline and crown. The surgeon reviews them and comes back with a graft estimate, the technique they would use and a written price. No obligation.
Step 2 — Consultation at the clinic
Blood work and an in-person consultation, where the hairline is drawn and agreed with you before anything begins. Book it around your week rather than the other way round.
Step 3 — The procedure
A full day at the clinic, typically six to eight hours depending on graft count, under local anaesthesia. You are awake, and you can talk, eat and take breaks.
Step 4 — First wash and review
You come back in a few days. The dressing comes off, the first wash is done for you, and you are shown how to repeat it at home. The surgeon checks the grafts.
Month 1–12 — Growth
Shedding around week three is expected and normal. New growth starts around month three, and the final result settles between months nine and twelve.

Questions people actually ask
Tap a question to open the answer.
Why a Turkish team in New York?
Because of who is operating, not where. Turkey leads this field on the strength of its surgeons, and this is that team — working in New York rather than asking you to fly to them.
How much does a hair transplant in New York cost?
One flat all-inclusive price, agreed in writing before you book anything. There is no per-graft surcharge.
How is it that much less than other New York clinics?
One fixed price instead of per-graft billing, and a team that does this volume every week rather than occasionally.
How much time do I need to take off?
Plan for the procedure day itself and a few quiet days after. Most patients are back at a desk within three to five days.
Which technique is used?
FUE or DHI, chosen at consultation based on your hair characteristics and the area being covered. Both are follicular unit extraction — no strip, no linear scar.
Can I get myself home afterwards?
You can travel home the same evening, but not driving yourself — the local anaesthetic and a long day in the chair make that a bad idea. Arrange a lift or a cab.
When can I go back to the gym, or out in the sun?
Direct sun on the recipient area, swimming pools and heavy exertion are all off the list for the first stretch. The clinic gives you exact timings at your review.
What if I need a second session later?
Discuss it at the consultation. Density expectations and whether a second pass is likely are set out honestly before you commit, not afterwards.

I highly recommend Istanbul Care clinic! My husband chose them for a hair transplant and the entire experience was very positive from start to finish. The staff is professional, attentive, and well-trained, and the communication was excellent throughout the whole process. The clinic is modern and clean, and the procedure went smoothly. We are very happy with the results and with the care provided. Thank you, Istanbul Care, for your professionalism and dedication!

I loved the overall experience, just wished everybody could speak English better! Also my donor area was not that good so fingers crossed for the results to show. Thanks to the whole team for their support. Turkey has been amazing!

airport to the post-operative evaluation. The hotel was very comfortable and met my expectations. The scheduled pick-up times at the hotel were met. The hospital facilities were also satisfactory. In short, so far I've had a great experience and I recommend it. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the results in the coming months.

Outstanding Experience – Highly Recommended
I had my hair transplant with the support of Claire, and the entire process was genuinely outstanding. From start to finish, she guided me through every step with care, clarity, and professionalism — making what could have been a stressful experience feel completely smooth and reassuring.
The clinic staff were equally fantastic: friendly, attentive, and clearly experienced. I felt well looked after from the moment I walked in, and the service throughout was first-class. The results so far have exceeded my expectations, and I’m really happy with how things are progressing.
If you’re considering a hair transplant, I can’t recommend this clinic enough. Great team, great care, and great results!
